Hey kiddos.
This is just a short little update.
Just to let you know, this site will experiencing either a few revamps or a complete change in layout. I'm not totally sure how far my abilities will take me yet, but once I figure things out everything should be finished in about a week at the latest (I hope...)
I do plan on having these new pages

- Poetry and other works
- Artwork
This is just to keep things a little more organized and to mix it up a little. Hope you all will like it (because I'm not totally sure how it will turn out) :]

EDIT :: Alright I'm editing this post so I don't have to waste space, but so far I have managed to add a photography page (which can be viewed by clicking the navigation bar up there ^ ), change the template, the title fonts, and get a pretty ass-kicking banner up there as well. The base image of that banner is actually one of the photos I took. It's kind of sucky, but meeehh. Tis a Gemmie original. ^_^
Within the week (maybe), I hope to get a customized background that screams "GEMMIE!" I just need to figure out what that is XP Also planning to get those other pages up, and just a warning: I'll probably delete some of my older blog posts that are basically shit. And that's pretty much half of my older posts. I'll keep them archived on my laptop, though, but I highly doubt any of you would care. :P
EDIT2 [March 1]: Methinks I'll just keep adding on to this post until I get a new and adequate post up.
Anyway, I have recently deleted (almost) all my posts from before the blog entitled "Poetry" (that one was for The Ball) because that was when I stopped talking about myself and things no one cares about so much. The ones that remain are Blog Attempt #??? and Media Rant. I kept Blog Attempt #??? because that pretty much describes why I am here, writing words for you people to read. Media Rant is still there because it is part of the reason I am here and it's just too awesome to give up ^_^
I also have the skeletons of my writing page up, but nothing is really on there right now.
And yes, I am going to put up certain RP posts from MNI on here because I am really proud of some of them, especially since I recently started getting into roleplay.
Once I update the Writing page, I only need to get my artwork up and then the changes will stop happening so frequently. The last major change I'd want to get up would be that background that SCREAMS Gemmie, I just don't know how to incorporate Gemmie into a background so that might not end up happening for awhile.

I'm not up because I didn't sleep at all last night (my dad's first question when he came in). I'm up because I woke up early.
LE GASP.
Well it was more like a little nap, but I actually slept from like 1 to 5am (yes, 4 hours is a little nap to me), but it still counts :P
Anyway, I did have some kickass idea for a post, as my mind is adamant in convincing me, I just can't remember what it was >_<
So instead I shall be sharing with you some stats of my site, something I've actually been planning to do but was so lazy in actually transferring it into blog post form =]

Okay so here's what I don't get.
Why in the world does October and November have the most page views out of all the months when I posted NOTHING from September to December. That's like a 4 month time gap. What? Did people think that I'd come back to blog just because it was my birthday month? No no no no. That would be the last thing I'd blog about since my birthday SUCKED (yeah. I only got Reese's as presents this year... wait that's a lie. My mom gave me my phone a week before and I went to see Scott Westerfeld the day after she gave it to me, but that's completely different).
It also says that in May and June I got 0 page views, which makes no sense AT ALL since I have 4 posts from June and one in May, almost all of which have comments on them. But maybe the counter doesn't track page views back that far.

Page views yesterday: 5
Page views all time history: 612
I'd just like to note that the page views of all time history is different from the hit counter on the right because by the time I got that counter, I suppose I already had 200 page views logged in on my blog.
Oh, and 300 of those are probably from me. XD

So this is for all you readers out there, if you are from a different country and are NOT KAT, please come out of the shadows and comment because I'm really curious as to who would be crazy enough to keep coming back here (although I suppose you can still comment, Kat). Merci =]

Early Morning Poetry
Morning dears!
Yes, yes, I am actually posting way early in the morning?
Why?
Because my sleeping schedule is fucked up, that's why. Lately I've gotten in the habit of going home from school, taking a super long nap that lasts until God knows when, and then staying up all night doing/procrastinating on homework. I've been legitimately up since 10. I've done practically nothing since (fuck you, Malcolm X).
Anyway, in case you are wondering, I am determined to post more often now that I've finally gotten around to coming back. It may not be everyday like it was over break and how it has been lately, but as I have actually managed to reach a full year with this blog I intend for it to keep my interest for as long as I still write. Most of these posts will be put up from like 2-6am when I am up (weird, huh?), so you'll probably miss most of them anyway unless I prompt my scarce amount of followers on twitter later in the day (if that's possible).
Oh and if you read last night's incoherent mess, kudos to you. I was just trying to wiggle my way out of finishing that world history packet :P
If you haven't read it, don't. Unless you like either Logan Miller or Alex Evans. I don't know. You might.
Anyway, I have brought to you POETRY!

Kind of. I haven't written anything in a REALLY long time so this one is generally crappy and short.
Not really sure what to call it, without being unoriginal.
Falling.
Farther and farther
Until my screams are taken from me
And I am left voiceless.
I knew this was coming for me
A tale I knew too well
Yet I still followed the plot.
I followed this path
Until it wasn't just a crack anymore.
It became a gorge.
A chasm.
A trench.
An abyss.
For what is a rut
But a hole with direction?
Alice may have stumbled upon it
But I dug the hole.
She fell up
I am still falling
Into my bottomless grave.
Don't you just feel better about yourself? XD
You don't need to know the details of this reason behind this one. My poems all follow a familiar trend anyway.
Also (doesn't that word just strike FEAR into your heart now?), I was reading some of my earlier posts and one of them was of me describing the projects I planned to pursue this year (which never worked out, as you should know) and I said that every time I posted I would put up the pictures that I took for my own Project 365.
Well even though I don't take pictures every day anymore, I do whip out my camera phone regularly, if not on a daily basis. If I do whip it out, I will most likely take like seven pictures before putting it back (unless it's running out of battery), so I will almost always have a few new pictures for you to see.
Right now most of them are for the photography contest on MNI. This round is a lyrics round, so we had to choose a song and take a picture of whatever goes along with it (did I already say this? I feel like I did)
These are for Pavlove by Fall Out Boy (duh).

Late Night Procrastination Musings
okay so i had to post this
*doesn't feel like capitalizing anything*
right now it's about three in the morning and i have to be in school in like four hours. i did none of my homework (except for my french culture project) and i barely started my world history homework that was due last week.
but what am i doing instead?
staring at picture of logan miller.
but here's the thing.
it isn't logan miller.
lemme backup.
on mni (yes, mni reference again), i joined an rp (roleplay, look it up) that called for using a picture of someone to be the model for what your character looks like (the character image is called a playby). so for my playby i decided that logan miller would be a decent person to use. i look up pictures of him on google image and come across this picture. and now i'm thinking "holy shit, this can't be logan miller! it looks nothing like him!"
first reaction was "text stacy"
so we're both freaking out and all like, "he is freaking hot!" and squealing like we hormonal teenagers do when crossing a hot specimen of the other gender. all the while i'm comparing it with this picture, just to make sure that they were the same person. if you look really closely, they do have the same lips and the same nose and even the same chin. and while i'm convincing myself the whole time, "oh yeah, this is logan miller," there is a single name that kept floating at the back of my head.
alex evans. alex evans. alex evans. alex evans.
at the time of finding that picture, i did think that it looked far too much like alex evans, i just couldn't remember his name at the time. i've only heard of him once from a girl on mni that i haven't talked to in a really long time (man... i miss that chick).
anyway, awhile ago i'm like, "man, there is no way in hell that those two people can be the same" so i check the photobucket account that has it on there and look at the comments.
lo and behold, it was alex evans, not logan miller.
i was kind of disappointed, honestly, because i was thinking "dude, if some guys just straightened their hair more often, they would be hotter... or at least cuter, depending on the person" (example one leads to ross, who looked like some gay surfer when he had curly hair). but now the dream is crushed of logan miller being hotter with straight hair (but hey, you never know. he might be).
so with a crushed spirit now, i plan on telling stacy how i was bamboozled by the internet (damn!). no doubt that when i tell her she'll be like, "who's alex evans?" and i'm going to have to come up with an answer right? i mean, i have heard of the dude i should know who he his at least. but i've heard of so many things (mainly being male model, internet celebrity, just another famous emo dude) that i had to look him up for a concrete answer.
so far, all i'm getting from my search is "internet celebrity"
now i'm wondering, "how the hell did some random dude out of nowhere get to have the status of internet celebrity?"
no need for an answer why though. i mean, he's every girl's dream guy. for one he's hot. and number two he's hot. what more could you need? i certainly have reasons as to why i would be attracted to him
- he's canadian
- french is his native language (that's hot to me)
- he's a photographer
- he writes
and a bunch of other stuff off his site that i can't remember.
but i'm wondering how he got to be so famous. i mean, he's just a dude. it's not like he's some hilarious person on youtube, because that's totally different. i can see how people become famous on youtube. but as far as i know, alex evans started out with just a blog. how could some random canadian kid who practically had to teach himself english go from faceless to famous (at least with a certain crowd of people)? that's what perplexes me. is there some sort of secret formula that i'm missing? i personally don't want to be famous (unless it involves mega monies), but i always wonder how certain people got so popular.
i mean, not counting pop artists. that's quite obvious (usually).
but another good example is leda (idk her last name. i just know her name is leda and she's dating nathan owens). i know she has a youtube account and whatnot, but after looking at some of her videos she is not interesting. sure she's pretty, but that's pretty much all she's got going for her.
so now i can't help but wonder if people always flock towards the gorgeous emo/scene kids, because that's basically what leda and alex are labeled as.
i know what you're thinking: "but gemmie! you like those kind of people!"
shh. i know i like those kinds of people. i've always been attracted to them. i mean, that's what attracted me to destery, but he's freaking hilarious so he's got more than just looks going on for him. but lately it seems like all you need to get famous is to be really really hot or just a generally hot scene kid.

so with a crushed spirit now, i plan on telling stacy how i was bamboozled by the internet (damn!). no doubt that when i tell her she'll be like, "who's alex evans?" and i'm going to have to come up with an answer right? i mean, i have heard of the dude i should know who he his at least. but i've heard of so many things (mainly being male model, internet celebrity, just another famous emo dude) that i had to look him up for a concrete answer.
so far, all i'm getting from my search is "internet celebrity"
now i'm wondering, "how the hell did some random dude out of nowhere get to have the status of internet celebrity?"
no need for an answer why though. i mean, he's every girl's dream guy. for one he's hot. and number two he's hot. what more could you need? i certainly have reasons as to why i would be attracted to him
- he's canadian
- french is his native language (that's hot to me)
- he's a photographer
- he writes
and a bunch of other stuff off his site that i can't remember.
but i'm wondering how he got to be so famous. i mean, he's just a dude. it's not like he's some hilarious person on youtube, because that's totally different. i can see how people become famous on youtube. but as far as i know, alex evans started out with just a blog. how could some random canadian kid who practically had to teach himself english go from faceless to famous (at least with a certain crowd of people)? that's what perplexes me. is there some sort of secret formula that i'm missing? i personally don't want to be famous (unless it involves mega monies), but i always wonder how certain people got so popular.
i mean, not counting pop artists. that's quite obvious (usually).
but another good example is leda (idk her last name. i just know her name is leda and she's dating nathan owens). i know she has a youtube account and whatnot, but after looking at some of her videos she is not interesting. sure she's pretty, but that's pretty much all she's got going for her.
so now i can't help but wonder if people always flock towards the gorgeous emo/scene kids, because that's basically what leda and alex are labeled as.

shh. i know i like those kinds of people. i've always been attracted to them. i mean, that's what attracted me to destery, but he's freaking hilarious so he's got more than just looks going on for him. but lately it seems like all you need to get famous is to be really really hot or just a generally hot scene kid.

Picture Sharing ^_^

Yes, yes, I know.
After spewing out all that random shit over winter break I suddenly drop off the face of the earth once school starts.
But hey! School sucks the time out of me. I mean sure, I don't much of a great job managing it well, but if I didn't have school I'd probably post more.
Actually that is a lie, as proven by the week off I had while I was bedridden with chicken pox (for the second time in my life, apparently >_>). But to be honest, I didn't do anything on account of... actually what did I even do that week? *shrug* I forgot! XD
So what has been going on with me, you ask?
Actually, not a whole lot, but I'll give you a brief overview anyway via BULLET POINTS (in no real order)!
Because honestly, who doesn't love LISTS?
Unless it's a list of chores, in which case that's gruesome, but if it's bullet pointed then it's just that more enjoyable ^_^

- I started Art Fundies (aka Design 1), French, and Gym (which isn't too bad, actually). French and art are the two reasons why I am still going to school.
- I found out that French classes have the opportunity to go to France with Madame L every two years, but Art classes have the opportunity to go to Italy just for next year. Thus initiated a week of indecision.
- I decided on Italy (:
- But then I realized I needed a job ): (if anyone knows of any job openings around my area, please tell me... even though I'm only fourteen >_>)
- I got the chicken pox... AGAIN. Though I first thought it was like deadly measles and started panicking, but turns out they were just troublesome pox marks.
- My sister gave me her (very small) laptop
- My father got a new job, but since it's so far away he lives in an apartment near there during the week and comes home for the weekend.
- I became obsessed with Family Force 5
- I downloaded a little more than 50 songs on my phone, 20 of them being Family Force 5 and only 11 being Fall Out Boy. Other repeat artists are: Bring Me The Horizon, The Maine, The Academy Is...
- I'm now getting a C in French (I was gone far too many times and forgot to make up a quiz. Otherwise, I'd have at least a low A in French because I'm just that awesome)
- We started To Kill a Mockingbird in English... but we finished. Now we're doing an essay to connect some aspect of life during the Civil Rights era and connecting it to the book (I'm so screwed, but that's nothing new).
- I got the seventh book in Max Ride, Angel, and the third volume of the manga!! (Don't worry, I won't geek out over them this time. It actually made me REALLY pissed off, but that's all you're hearing from me :3) I got them yesterday, finished both of them today.
- The way we do things in World History has changed completely because Mr. W, the head of the department, is an ASS
- I never finished any of those things I promised I would accomplish this year.
And here's why.
- The 2011 Project of EPIC!ness is on hold because in the middle of January my camera broke.
"Really Gemmie? Already?"
HEY. Not my fault. My nephew knocked it out of my hands and the lens got awkwardly dislodged into the camera.
"You couldn't have had the strap on?"
Actually, I was about to put it back in my case when he started doing this cute thing. So being the aunt that I am, I kept my camera positioned on him so I could take a picture but to my dismay he knocked it out of my hands by the time he reached me Dx
My camera was actually supposed to be done fixing a few weeks ago, but my brother in law hasn't gotten around to picking it up. Ah well.
So that also means that not only can I not make a decent quality video, I also could not commit to taking a picture every day of this year without getting all pissy about the horrible quality of my phone as compared to the kickass quality that Canon cameras never fail to exhibit. However, I still have taken quite a few photos on my phone, so I shall share that with you. :]
- As for the Ultimate Harry Potter Reread, I was planning on sharing that with my brother, but we missed too many days so I decided to pick up again at CoS. However, for some reason I never did pick it up again and now we're already on the fourth book, which is like really crazy o_0
I shall reread the series on my own sometime.
However, even though I didn't adhere to the whole "take a picture every day of this year" thing, I do have quite a few pictures on my phone (it says like 79 or something).
